A consortium of Germany’s MAN Energy Solutions has won a $100m deal to build a 56 MW dual fuel power plant in Bermuda. The contract is with Bermuda Electric Light Company (BELCO) and will phase out all existing 17 fuel oil engines at the plant. MAN Energy is to replace 9 of those engines with a new plant which comprises four MAN 51/60DF engines.
The upgraded facility is expected to become fully operational in the year 2020.
